Command R is a Cohere language model released in early March 2024 and positioned as the first Cohere model explicitly built for retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG). It introduced grounded generation with structured citations to support source‑referenced outputs, and was offered at $0.50 per 1 K prompt tokens and $1.50 per 1 K completion tokens. The model has since been superseded by an updated version released later in August 2024.
