Privacy Policy

When you sign up, we collect your email and a username. When you complete the age verification, we store your birth year only — never the full date. Anything you publish (status updates, reviews, lists, ratings, forum posts, media uploads, wiki edits) is associated with your account.

We also detect your country at sign-in from your IP via x-vercel-ip-country. That's stored as a two-letter ISO code, not your raw IP. You can override it on your profile.

For DMCA complaints submitted via /dmca, we retain the SHA-256 hash of the submitter's IP and the user-agent string for audit purposes.

• Apply community moderation (reports, vandalism detection)
• Enforce age + adult content gating
• Detect abuse and respond to DMCA / legal requests

We do not sell your data. We do not show third-party tracking ads. Aggregate, non-identifying counts (e.g. "we have ~250 users in Germany") may be used internally to decide which jurisdictions need additional legal review.

Off Screen Space is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 in the United States. Our age gate refuses sign-ups from anyone whose answered birth year puts them under 13.

If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please email privacy@honestabeentertainment.com and we will delete the account within 7 business days.

We are the data controller for your account on Off Screen Space. Our legal basis for processing is:

• Contract — operating the service you signed up for
• Legitimate interest — moderation, fraud prevention, basic analytics (aggregate)
• Consent — adult content opt-in, optional newsletter

Age of consent: the EU sets the digital-consent age between 13 and 16 by member state (Article 8 GDPR). Our age gate asks you to confirm you meet your country's threshold; if under, a parent/guardian must consent on your behalf.

Your rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Email privacy@honestabeentertainment.com to exercise any of these.

California residents have the right to know what personal information we've collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA.

Categories of data we collect: identifiers (email, username, IP-derived country), commercial information (subscription tier, if any), internet activity (posts, ratings, follows, session timing), inferences (recommendations from your activity).

Email privacy@honestabeentertainment.com with "CCPA request" in the subject line to exercise your rights. We respond within 45 days.

This service is not directed to children under 13 (US) or under your country's minimum digital-consent age (typically 13–16 in the EU). We require an age confirmation at sign-up and again before any adult-flagged content is shown.

If you believe your child has created an account on Off Screen Space without your consent, email privacy@honestabeentertainment.com from an address we can verify and we'll close the account and remove their data within 7 business days. Include the username if you know it.

Adult content stays opt-in even for verified 18+ users. Until a user explicitly enables it, adult-flagged uploads and reviews are hidden behind a click-to-reveal scrim.

We use essential cookies for auth (Supabase session) and a single first-party analytics cookie measuring page views. We don't run third-party analytics, ad networks, or cross-site tracking pixels. Cookie preferences can be set via the footer link.

Account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove identifying data within 30 days; aggregate moderation records (DMCA notices, vandalism scores) are kept indefinitely as required by our safe-harbor obligations.
